We are looking for a Golf Shop Assistant to work at the Burgess Hill Golf Centre Golf Store. The job involves knowledge and selling of golf equipment, also serving and taking payments from our customers using the driving range and golf course.
The Burgess Hill Golf Centre is a busy 28 Bay undercover floodlit Driving Range / Championship Short Course/ professional golf shop.
As an Assistant at The Burgess Hill Golf Centre you have the opportunity to combine your job with your interest in golf. You don’t have to play like a pro to be a sales assistant… However Some knowledge of golf equipment and an interest in golf is essential.
Full Time 30- 35 hours per week
Your role:
• Advising customers on golf equipment
• Serving customers driving range tokens & taking payment for green fee’s
• Taking payment for shop sales
• Booking in appointments
• General running of a professional shop
• Handling cash, closing & locking up of premises

Centre facilities free for you to use..
• Driving Range Balls – You will have your own Range Card that the Shop Manager will top up on a regular basis.
• Hire Clubs for Lessons.
• Championship Par 3 Course – free for you and pupils whilst in the lesson time.
• Fantastic Short Game Areas
• Marketing Support – stationery, printed leaflets, lesson gift vouchers, website promoting, email campaigning and help with posters available.
Staff Uniform

Rent – Shop Cover unpaid
• Golf Teachers cover the Golf Shop for a maximum of 20 hrs per week (generally 2×6 and 2×4 hour shifts with one shift on a weekend day).**This amount of hours varies and might only be 12-15 hours.
• Shifts are changeable with other staff as is fairly common due to golf competitions etc but must be arranged clearly well in advance.

Shop Commission
• Good Commission from sales of shop products from top Manufacturers Taylormade/Cobra/Callaway offering shop credit for sales of Irons and Woods.
Your Teaching Availability
• When you are not in shop time you have the freedom to be around or not. Some Pro’s at Burgess Hill play or choose to be away from the centre treating the position as ‘part time’. Dependant on ones objectives this is a choice the position allows.
Holiday Time
• Self-employed would usually mean no Holiday allowance but our Golf Teachers can take 2 and a half weeks per year with permission from the shop manager.
