Cobra RADSPEED irons offer a new level of performance, with game-changing innovations that include Radial Weighting and the first-ever 3D printed nylon medallion.
Radial weighting originated from an engineering concept called Radius of Gyration, the distance from the club’s centre of gravity to each weight or technology location. COBRA’s engineers soon discovered that by placing mass as far as possible from the CG location, low on the heel and toe. They could lower the CG while dramatically improving the stability of the clubhead. A 10g screw-in weight is positioned in the toe and 3g of mass, is positioned in the heel to create the best combination of low CG, and high MOI for the fast ball speed and high launch.
3D Printed Nylon Medallion
In partnership with HP & Parmatech 3D printing offers significant advantages over traditional manufacturing methods. It allowed engineers to construct a more sophisticated nylon medallion lattice structure. The medallion reduces weight to lower the CG and reduces vibrations at ball impact to deliver a softer feel and more feedback response to the golfer.
Carbon Fiber Topline
To replace heavy steel, Carbon Fiber is integrated into the topline and directly underneath to create a new I-beam type of construction. This is lighter in total mass and is structurally sound, allowing Cobra engineers to reposition discretionary weight low into the to design to increase ball speed and launch in the 4-7iron. To deliver more stability the head has SpeedBack shaping with a wider body around the perimeter. This helps to lower CG and increase MOI to provide more forgiveness and accuracy.
Most golfers strive for more distance and that’s why Cobra Golf has continued with their number one performance attribute PWRSHELL Technology. The forged PWRSHELL face in the RADSPEED iron features a structure that helps to lower the CG and create more energy return, offering increased speed and higher launch even on stronger lofted irons.
COBRA CONNECT™ Powered by Arccos
Each iron has an electronically enabled sensor built-in to the top of every grip. This system is powered by Arccos and can be paired to your smartphone via a free Arccos smartphone app. It automatically tracks your distance and accuracy of every shot, so you can review performance data. It also provides access to over 40,000 golf courses worldwide with GPS data. Plus access Arccos Caddie, which utilizes Artificial Intelligence to make better on-course decisions to potentially lower scores.
